Penalty Corners
Corners
They are now taken from position no less than 5 yards from a the coner post on the sideline nearer to the positio to where the ball crossed the backline. They are awarded if an defender unintentionally plays the ball over his backline from anywhere on the playing surface or deliberately over the backline outside his defensive half.
Control
Levels of control will vary from game to game, and from incident to incident. At times you will be required to leap from not enough to optimum firmness and control. Umpires with experience, will be able to adjust their control to suit the game cycles and specific situations and incidents. Experienced umpires will eventually eliminate the too much control/policing from their game. As a coach you can help identify key areas of a game where the varying ranges of control may be used when, how, why?
Rapour
Rapour is not only with co-umpires but also players, technical bench staff, officials, coaching and management staff and spectators. Why? Because the better understanding you have of these components the more enjoyable the game becomes. The game also becomes easier for spectators to comprehend and understand. The communication with players and bench staff will assist the game by ensuring all facets of the match both on and off the playing surface are adhered to.
Conclusion
The reason for goal setting as an umpire is that it provided a sense of achievement, which is turn generates motivatio, enthusiasm and incentives. If umires can achieve simple goals, they will become more reponsive and confident and aim for greater heights and futher ambitions
Motivation, consider your long-term dream on the hockey field. Push the worthwhile and poductive goals (badges and appointments over money). Deal with personal and umiring problems early, nip them in the bud so that a high level of motivation may be achieved.
